Name: Brandon Age: 28 Marital Status: Married Children: Son, Liam Occupation: Currently Unemployed/AX Rep Lifting Style: Varies Diet: High Protein/Moderate Carb/Moderate Fat Supplementation: I've tried nearly everything What is the purpose of this log? I find it much easier to log my lifting to mark progress. I sometimes will go 4 or 5 days without posting results, but I write things out daily. I also am a stay at home father for the time being (until re-employed) so my house can get chaotic with a 7 month old first born child. Maybe you can completely or partially relate, if not, I hope it's an interesting read. I'll try to keep detail when I do post logs and I will do my best to be as frequent as possible.
11-28-11 I have decided to do a 3 day per week leg workout, along with 2 upper body days. My legs lack in size and strength and need to be brought up to par. I will be doing 2 days of a sheiko modified workout along with a 10x10 workout. I had to catch up on a missed Sheiko workout from this past Friday due to reasons left unknown. Workout (%1MR Reps x Sets) (Then listed is weight and the number of sets I completed, if it's one set, you'll just see the weight) Squat 50% 5x1, 60% 4x1, 70% 3x2, 80% 2x5 215, 255, 295x2, 340x5 Front Squats 45% 3x2, 55% 3x2, 60% 2x4 155x2, 175x2, 195x4 Good mornings 5x5 N/A Lunges (*Optional) 5x5 N/A The baby monitor was going nuts because my son decided to end his nap and my workout early. I have moved towards trying to eat a little bit more clean, especially since it's easy to gain weight around the midsection. I tend to eat junk whenever it is present, so I don't buy it, or I eat it all at once. I'd rather feel fat for a day rather than an entire week. Today my son decided he would do all in his power to eat the dogs rawhide, even if it meant crawling away from site to get a few licks. As a parent, we try to keep things off of the floor, but with a pet that enjoys playing fetch it is difficult. It is especially difficult when I throw a dog toy away from my son and the dog brings it back to my son.
11-29-11 Jury duty caused me to miss my workout and my son is sick so today is an off day. Tomorrow the Supaaaaaaaahhhhhsize arrives!
11-30-11 I had jury duty today, but got out early. I decided to hit up my upper body workout and crack up my Supersize which just arrived. Barbell Rows 55% 5x1, 65% 4x1, 75% 3x2, 85% 2x4 185, 225, 265x2, 295 Bench 50% 5x1, 60% 4x1, 70% 3x2, 80% 2x3, 85% 2x2, 80% 3x2 175, 205, 245x2, 275x3, 295x2, 275x2 Barbell Rows 50% 3x1, 60% 3x1, 70% 3x1, 80% 3x4 175, 205, 245, 275x4 Bench 50% 5x1, 60% 4x1, 70% 3x2, 80% 3x6 175, 205, 245x2, 275x6 Pullups 10x5 BWx5 Flies <did dips instead 10x5 BWx5 The workout went very well and I had a bit more endurance to really push through this workout. Normally I get gassed towards the end. I felt very motivated and my in between set recovery time was much faster so my workout was finished even faster. Unfortunately, my son is sick, the poor little guy. Cough, running nose, congested, and crying when he coughs. Wish I could trade places with him, I don't want him to be in pain. I also found out I'm on standby for jury duty tomorrow, so this just keeps getting more interesting. I cannot keep a babysitter on standby as that's not fair to the babysitter. Hope I don't have to show up!
Sorry for the lack of updates, my little guy has been sick, so my sleep patterns are all jacked. I've been trying to get online as often as I can to check forums and answer threads, but not much time right now to update my personal log.
No worries man! It's the same here.. First I'm sick.. Then the little guy, then my wife.. then it starts all over again... Not a good year for me.. I usually don't get sick at all, but this year I broke the record :/

I wish I was able to do this. I'm finding my back is taking too much of a beating with the heavy lifting 4 days per week, then a moderate lifting day just puts it over the top. I did get a heavy bag though, so leg power should be increasing!
Yeah I totally know what you mean...I still remember the week I did all heavy compound movements (back squats, deads, bench, shoulder press, etc) long story short, I'll never do that again.
I regularly do all of those compound movements each week, and using low rep ranges, but adding in the additional leg day was far too brutal.
The interesting part with the prof is he is a true doctor and pretty much mad scientist. After seeing his video, and based on first impressions, I would love to see a friendly interaction with him and others at a random gym. Then, have a conversation regarding chemistry get sparked up and see their amazement. No offense to the doc, seriously, I just think the beard definitely throws people, and not to mention the fact that he actually lifts and lifts quite a bit of weight.
