I stand corrected... http://www.efsa.europa.eu/en/faqs/faqaspartame.htm Don't wanna sound like an ass, but the sites you posted have more ADS/Banners then any form of evidence.. Also, I can find studies saying that eating potatos, popcorn, mouthwash, multivitamins, etc etc etc can cause cancer... even TOO MUCH SEX CAN CAUSE CANCER.... Everything is dangerous when too much is consumed...
Noooo! That's not what I meant with that, I thought it meant the opposite!! HAHAHA My lame-o-meter just spiked haha
NOO Eizbear, I don't want to hear to much sex causes cancer... crap does that mean I am going to lose my ???
Diet coca cola contains phosphoric acid which is a mild acid and a surfactant. After all the water and flavorings are added, the pH is somewhere about 2. Essentially, it strips off the dirty-looking copper oxide layer without any pitting or corrosion. You can do the same thing with the juice from a lemon or an orange or 0.1M muriatic acid (which is what your stomach acid is). Soaps are lye based, so they are alkaline surfactants. The local pH around the penny is going to be about 10, which will actually promote the oxide formation. The trick is that we see the penny and think it's dirty, but it's actually the early stages of the development of patina. By the way, welcome to the forums, Steadam.
Hi Folks! Everything here that would be classed as 'diet' is labelled 'sugar-free' in Aus. I drink the old Coke Zero every now and then if i want some flavour, or a hint of caffeine to keep me going through the day. Looking at the ingredients, there are no calories, and no sugar. Simply put - It wont make you fat, It wont help you lose weight - it's just a drink flavoured by sweeters 951 and 955 (aspartame and sucralose). There is a riot of debates on the internet about the negative effects of aspartame on the human body, however - considering brushing your teeth the wrong way can cause cancer.. I'd probably be more inclined to take this with a grain of salt. With everything though, moderation is key. If you consume too much of anything, you'll likely have negative effects. Blake
Well here's a common sense fact. If you trick your stomach into thinking it's got food coming. It will release digestive juices to digest that which isn't there. A deit soda now and then can't do much. In access it could lead the ulcers, unless food is ingested at the same time whose juices are coming to eat something. Personally I love Dr. Pepper but it will never cross my lips again. The older one get the wiser they must be
I used to drink 3 20-oz Mt. Dews per day. When you drink that much (or more like so many obese people do), switching to diet can help you lose weight. I try to stay completely off non-beer carbonated beverages now and always feel better when I stay off carbonation. As for Scout's original question...I hear stuff like that all the time and agree with most of the comments made in the rest of the thread. Doctor's had no idea what caused my thyroid cancer and it is a 3:1 ratio women to men so I was just "lucky". Moderation and genetics are the keys and you can only control one of those...
