    Hello Guys,

I have reasonable knowledge of Nutrition but making a diet when i do shifts of 06:00 Start 18:00 Finish for Days, 3 days on, 4nights on, 3 days off, 4days on, 3nights on, 4 days off. 12hour shifts. So sleeping pattern is out of the window. 18:00 Start 06:00 Finish for nights. So making a diet is impossible.

My stats at the moment are:

    Weight: 180lbs
    Hight: 5'8ft

So if anyone could help i would be ever so greatful.

    Thank you
    Damien

Diet tends to depend on bodytype.

I'm not sure what you're looking for with your question.

My motto has always been to eat when your hungry and make smart food choices.

Sorry didnt word it properly but the main question is how do i get enough sleep and gym time in when i work 7days on then 3off then 7on the 4off.

So if you say eat when hungry. i am never hungry after a workout but its the best time to get in the nutrition you need in that 30min window!!!

But what are the smart food choices tho? I have to either take packed lunchs which are normally sandwegdes or have a take away at work. at the moment i cant get any protien at the moment because of money probs.

    Cheers for the response.

Man, just boil rice and some chicken, put it in a plastic case and take it to work, simple as that. As for the days on the job - if you can't train, you can't train, there is no magic formula. No one will say that it's OK not to train for 7 days and then workout like crazy for 3 days. Either find the time or make your peace with sucky reality or better yet find a better job.

Of course, training can be tweaked, but if you're looking for serious results you need to commit, that's the hardest part. There are no shortcuts.

I am currently eating chicken 3 times a day morning afternoon and night and in between for snacks i eat high proteins like ill have a few shakes through the day etc.. what is the correct amount of protein to build a nice bulk

There is no fixed amount, it differs from individual to individual... Try and rotate your food as well, you can't eat the same thing over and over.. Well, you can.. But you get what I mean..

For me, I try to be around 200 grams of protein per day.. Ofc it differs from day to day, but that it's my goal..

How much protein in grams do you estimate that you ingest ?

Shoot for 1 gram per pound of bodymass.

Thesinner has given you some great advice.

I tend to eat about every 3 hours, as I've finally come to know my body over the years.

Make sure you hang around here...great supplements and people.

Ain't that a bit little ? I'd say double amount..

    Edit:
Whops! Pounds.. Not kilos.. rofl.. ;)

We've discussed various diets over on progressFIT including a sample 2200 calorie diet and a 3200 calorie diet.

Stick with clean, wholesome foods - avoid empty carbs.

Things like processed foods (sausages, breads, donuts) etc should be avoided.

Stick with the chicken breasts, tuna, lean ground beef, salmon etc. Grilled.
    Sweet Potatos
    Brown Rice
All the good veges (which actually burn fat - also on progressFIT) - brocolli, beans, cauliflower etc.
    Organic Yoghurts
    Eggs

    The list goes on :)
