Back by unpopular demand.... me! Finally starting to get back into the swing of things after a bit of a "life-induced" hiatus, so I figure I might as well keep a bit of a log to keep myself motivated. I find that when I keep 'score', I'm more apt to push a bit harder. I feel obligated! This is going to be pretty basic. No diet info, no real weigh-ins or anything fancy. Just me, the weights, and maybe some useless diatribe. (Eh, who am I kidding...LOTS of useless diatribe!) What have I been doing? -Past 2 months have been mainly 2-3 workouts each week, all about an hour or slightly less, relatively high intensity when I can bring it. -Goal has been maintenance, with a side of hot buttered 'lose a bit of it'. Still too fluffy, but still better off than I was a while ago! -Training has been very basic, mostly upper body due to a bum knee, and a few weeks avoiding back due to some issues which are almost cleared up by the chiropractor. -Supps for the last 4 weeks were minimal - StimX, Carno (off n on), a bit over a week on AlphaT2 to try it out. What will I be doing? -Moderately higher rep scheme (10-15) -50-75% max weights -Supersets (time savers!) -Incorporating more leg/back work into my routine slowly -Focus on triceps, lats as I feel they lag the most -Moderate diet, nothing fancy, nothing planned - the typical "better choices" diet. What will I be taking? ...now there's the kicker. I won't tell you all of it! But, it's a pretty whopping stack. Nothing I haven't done before, but nothing I've done together in a while. Here's some of it: StimX - 1am (maybe) AlphaT2 - 1am, 1 early afternoon SDNG - 2 pre-w/o (what, you don't remember it? lol ) Carnobolic - 6 pre-w/o (my optimal dose) HardFX - 2 at night (I have my reasons ) AXcell - 3 scoops pre- & intra-, maybe more in the mornings as well Bulk Taurine - 1 tsp. mixed with AXcell for workouts (clue?) Perfect Cycle - 3-4/night Something else. No, not a new product, just something else that I won't mention. Later on: HardFX - 4/day MassFX TD - 5-6/day aPCT - 3/day LeanFX - 3/day (or original Retain 3/day...just cause I have it and it needs to be used) And that's pretty much it! Dosing started over the weekend, workouts start today about 4:30. Wish me luck!
lotta supps.. seeing you running the 6 caps of Carno makes me think i need to bump up from 4 caps. not to familiar SDNG, gonna have to read up oon it, -was before my time with AX- of course, feelin' ya on the AXcell. looks like a solid plan. supps, the "smart choices" diet, phasing in some more back and leg work, and focusing on what you see as areas that need work. go get it big un'
This is nice Tim, gonna be a pleasure following this... We'll sure help you out with the motivation!! Be sure of it! And Kim, yeah, you need to crank it up to 6, cause I'm on 6! I'm tiny You both are beasts Anyway, nice decision Tim, you wont regret it!
Thanks, guys. I'm anxious to get things started, but kinda nervous and embarassed at the same time because I know the weights I'll be throwing up aren't all that great. They might seem for some, but for me, probably not so much. I'm self-conscious like that sometimes, but it really doesn't matter at all. As long as I go in and do some sort of damage, it's all good!
I know exactly how you feel Tim! I hate the feeling going to the gym knowing that I'm not as strong as I were before (If you have been away for some "larger" time from the gym, like my WoW-playing time ) But it's just as you say, as long as you're shredding metal, you're good! And remember, you only train for yourself and for your family!! Screw the weights in the beginning, you'll be back higher then ever in no time
About to go hit it! Just in case anyone missed it, and to make this a bit more interesting perhaps, here's a recent pic of myself:
Wow was supprised to see this! *currently takeing bets on howlong untill this log goes stale* haha just kidding with you man, I know your a busy guy and will probably get distracted by something, last time round I think it was the bike crash and your week got pretty hectic playing daddy taxi. Can't believe you still got SDNG, is this pre-workout only? Or running it as a normal cycle? Iv heard of people running 2-3 caps superdrol 3-4 times a week (pre-workout only) but I have doubts if it works. Anything more on the alpha t2? i didn't order it in the end but still might have some money from this months wage to play with. I just don't know wether I wanna be swetting all the time, im allready bad for this.
When I clicked on this thread, I was half expecting to see a toilet bowl with something floating in it. I didn't think a person could be both disappointed and relieved at the same time. Your "logs" never cease to amaze.
Let's not confuse "S" with SDNG. NG was a very light PH/Stim combo, and I'm using as stim-only. Not expecting it do much other than light a fire under my arse when it's quittin time from the office and time to crack the floor in the gym. (By the way, I honestly think I did crack the floor doing deads. If The_Rock_Says were still around, I bet he could tell ya!) And yes, I'm going to try and actually follow through with this log. Things are still quite busy, but I'm trying to get myself back on track, or atleast make one good go of it before winter comes and we're down to one car in the family, leaving me to play taxi every day and a lot less time in the gym. We shall see... HA!! I knew you'd come in here with something like that. I was going to put a log pic up, but decided not to. Yet anyway...
Before I make the first entry from today's lift, for all those new to my logs, here's how to decode some of the language I use: Set = Weight x Reps aka 100x10 is 100lbs for 10 reps Whole exercise = weight x reps, weight x reps, etc... Dropsets - (weights x reps) x number of dropsets F = Failure (duh!) Official Log Entry! Monday, 9-13-10 Triceps n Lats Skull crushers - I do 'em with my head hanging off the bench, bar to chin for full stretch. -75x15, 75x15, 75x15 Close Grip Lat Pulldowns - Maintained good form, slight arch in back, pull to sternum. -180x12, 200x10, 220x8 Dumbell Overhead Extensions - 2 hands, 1 DB, much love. Done seated. -100x15, 100x15, 100x15 Wide-grip Lat Pulldowns - Milkin the machine today for some reason. Dropsets, slow pace. - (180x6, 160x6, 140x6, 120x6, 100x6) X2 Rope Triceps Pushdowns - For the burn here. Not used to rope, and it shows. -70x12, 70x12, 70x12 (pathetic) Stiff-arm Lat PDs - Hard to keep Tri's out of the equation, but I managed! Slow and concentrated pace. -60x15, 60x15, 60x15 Tricep Pushdowns - Flat bar, palms down, shoulder-width grip. Going for teh burn! -80x12, 80x12, 80x10, 60x9F Thoughts: Not bad for a Monday! Decently motivated. mp3 player was dead when I got there, had little reception for Pandora, so worked off old playlist on my phone. I could have done better with proper music. Definitely feeling it now - about 2 hours later. Although weights were a bit lacking, I'm satisfied. Oh, and about halfway through, a hella-hot blonde in tight clothing came in to use the cardio equipment. Everytime I walked to the fountain, she looked over at me. And THAT is the reason for all the cable machine exercises towards the end there. HA!!! Some inspiration from today... No, not just the sideboob in the still image, but the song itself. Diggin Sevendust as of late. Tim's Log - a Multi-Media Experience!! (Coming soon to IMAX 3D in Guatemala!!!)
Nice workout man, felt great being back ey ? Always nice with some females in the gym (good looking that is!!!), you can kinda feel the testosterone in the air from all the guys pushing extra hard to impress
Holy CRAP he is BACK!!!! Welcome my son!!! Workout looks great you are looking big as usual!!! Cant wait to get some pics on here so you all can see a difference!!! Will be keeping up with your log!!! So keep me motivated like you used to!!!
Lightweight! j/k Nice work, big guy. Sevendust is a great band. Side boob only adds to the experience.
And THAT right there is why I do this!! Great to see ya again, Dad! Been busy lately - both of us have. We're gonna have to catch up at some point! Motivating you motivates me, if that makes any sense at all. Now I really wanna do better! LIGHTWEIGHT, BABY!!! LOL Sevendust is one of those bands that I've never bought anything from, but never didn't like one of their songs. I finally bought this track and will certainly get some more. (Gave up buying hard copies long ago.)
Wednesday: Chest... and something else to fit in between chest sets! lol DB Incline Bench -70x15, 90x12, 100x9F DB Preacher Curls - Done to accentuate contraction, not move massive weight. Results = great pump/burn! -30x15, 30x15, 25x20, 25x20 Barbell Flat Bench-a-go-go - Just the bar, held as wide as possible, 5sec rest 1/2 way through. Ouch. -Bar (45lbs) x 100 Yes, 100 reps. Feel the freezy burn, baby!! And after that, eh... I went home. Relatively quick one today. I was pretty driven, but got zapped faster than I thought. After I got home, I realized that a lack of food was to blame. Didn't think about it, but all I had between 10 and the workout was 2/3 of a subway sub. Definitely not enough!! Too busy at work to eat right today, and I paid the price. Still, can't complain all that much. I did what I did, and I did it well enough.
Pretty good looking workout there son, as long as your muscles feel like they were worked then it doesn't matter how long it was!!! But you do need to get that feeding back for them!!! I know it is hard sometimes but cant deprive those hungry muscles of their proper protein, carbs and fats needed for growth!!! And yes have been super busy here, but yes I am back as well and better than ever, we will definatly have to catch up soon!!! Hope that little angel of a girl is doing well!!!!
Nice work, man. And I like your mentality for the preacher curls. Make the weights work for you, instead of working for the weight. From my experience, it always provides a pleasantly surprising result: results and happy joints!
Sounds like you and me had the same yesterday Tim, really know how your feeling! Nice to see that your able to hit the gym with the busy schedule of yours. Was impressed with the starting weight for the incline DB, good job bro!
Thanks, man. Usually, 90s are my warm-up sets. And thanks, Bob. Know what you mean about the lighter weight and joints! It seems I'm not actually getting any younger. Today was the first rainy day here in PA in a while and my wrists are absolutely killin me! Stupid carpal tunnel BS...
